STEVIE SET TO PLAY

Steven Gerrard will start for England against Israel in their vital Euro 2008 qualifier on Saturday.



The Liverpool skipper has been battling to overcome a broken toe and coach Steve McClaren has today confirmed his star midfielder will be in his team for the Wembley clash.

McClaren also revealed goalkeeper Paul Robinson will keep his place despite a high-profile error against Germany in August.

He said: "It will be a big boost for everyone but most of all it will be a boost for Stevie Gerrard because he wants to play in this game."
